If you are alive when the policy term of your term life insurance expires, your coverage ends, with no payout of any benefits.
You would be without life insurance protection at that time, unless you have another life insurance policy, or coverage through your employer.
However, if you still need life insurance at that time, you may be able to apply for a new life insurance policy, but you would likely need to take a physical exam to prove insurability, unless you chose to buy a life insurance policy with no health exam required.
Keep in mind, if you have term life insurance, you may be able to renew your policy for another policy term of up to 10 years, by contacting the insurer and asking to renew your policy. You may have to notify the insurer of your intent to renew the policy by a specific date prior to expiration.
